CHRISTMAS DINNER

Wait, is that a gingerbread house?

The night before going back home for winter break, every member of the community gathered in Pelham’s garden (the principal), to enjoy a meal together. We got to dress up, put on some make up and high heels. Some of us who had signed up for Christmas buddies got to put gifts under the Christmas tree and exchange them at the end of the night.

I was very excited for this event! The second years had told me all about it and I simply couldn’t wait to have good food in a vibrant atmosphere. The thought of going home was lingering in my mind throughout the entire event. I couldn’t imagine myself back home. The thought of sleeping my own bed was unfamiliar to me. Anyways back to the dinner.

I signed up to be a Christmas buddy and got to buddy this really sweet Swedish/Norwegian girl. I would try my best to be a good buddy and send her gifts as much as possible. When I finally revealed myself to her on that night, we exchanged a hug as I had left her a box of chocolates under the Christmas tree. Sadly, I got a very shitty buddy. She/he only gave me a brownie. They didn’t reveal themselves at the dinner and didn’t leave anything or me under the Christmas tree. Like why would you sign up for this if you’re not willing to make someone’s day but expect your day to be made?

Despite this, the dinner was amazing. There was such good fun and the Christmassy vibe in the air. Everyone dressed up really nicely and looked very excited. (Probably the thought of going home the next day)
